Seniors are one of our largest demographics on Cape Cod, and one of our most vulnerable. According to estimates from to the Federal Trade Commission, 1 out of 5 seniors falls victim to fraud. Too many are being drawn into poor investments, and getting swindled out of their savings and benefits. They should have confidence that their money is in the hands of authentic experts, not criminals.
Our seniors deserve to have both financial security and peace of mind. I plan to combat financial fraud against seniors, enforce harsh penalties on those scamming them, increase awareness of criminal tactics, and coordinate workshops across Cape Cod on financial literacy to empower seniors to protect themselves and their life savings.
